「キヤノンイーグルスの一員になれることにワクワクしています。プロのラグビー選手として夢を追い続けることができるのは非常に幸運であるといつも感じていますが、海外の文化を経験する機会が得られることにも感謝しています。日本に行き、日本のラグビーを体感できることをこの上なく楽しみにしています。
アリスター・クッツェーＨＣは南アフリカ代表の時から知っています。コーチとして尊敬していますし、人間としても大変素晴らしい方です。また、エキサイティングなラグビーを好む方ですので、彼のもとでプレーするのが楽しみです。来年のラグビーワールドカップでオールブラックスの一員として日本に戻ってくることに挑戦する前に、まずは、キヤノンイーグルスのチームメイトに早く溶け込めるようにベストを尽くし、今シーズン、チームのためにポジティブな貢献をする事ができれば幸いです。」

I am really excited to be joining the Canon Eagles. One of the reasons I feel very fortunate to have been able to follow my dream as a professional rugby player is that it has offered me opportunities to experience foreign cultures and I couldn't be more excited about being able to come up and have a taste of rugby in Japan.
I know Allister Coetzee from his time with the Springboks and have always respected him as a coach but more importantly he is a good man. I am also excited as I know that he is somebody who tries to play an exciting brand of rugby. I will do my best to fit in with all of my new teammates and hopefully I can make a positive contribution to the season before I return to New Zealand to have a crack at getting back to Japan for the World Cup with the All Blacks next year.
